In 1999, Canada issued a special series of quarters (one per month) to celebrate the dawn of the new millennium. The designs were drawn from over 33,000 contest submissions.
The theme of the February coin is "Etched in Stone" and shows three petroglyphs from Writing On Stone Provincial Park in Alberta. One of the three is almost certainly a deer.
