Lithuania joined the European Union in 2002, and adopted the Euro on January 1, 2015. Their first set of Euro coins maintains their identity with the image of Vytis -- the White Knight -- on horseback.
Because all 1 euro coins are bimetallic with a copper-nickel centre in a nickel-brass ring, that gives us a silver horse with golden hooves (and socks).
All coin images in Daniel's Coin Zoo are from my personal collection. I collect, research, and personally photograph every coin displayed on this site. PLEASE do not take my images without permission. If you would like to use any coin image you see, just ask me. Thank you.
