USA 25-CENTS (KM373)

Bison

The state quarter program was launched in 1999, with five different quarters being issued each year for 10 years.

Kansas did okay with their design, recognizing that they can't cram the entire state onto the surface of a quarter. The bison is large and bold, only having to share the space with some sunflowers, which apparently there are a lot of in Kansas.
