USA 25-CENTS (KM145)

Bald Eagle

The 'Standing Liberty Quarter' was first issued in 1916 (KM141) probably to an uproar, since the design had Liberty's right breast exposed. The wardrobe "malfunction" was corrected in mid-1917.

The majestic Bald Eagle will continue to soar on this coin until 1930, after which he lands for awhile.
