Spangled emperor
The Spangled emperor (Lethrinus nebulosus) is a popular fish for eating, and hence its appearance on this FAO issue coin. This fish has dozens of vernacular names throughout the Indo-Pacific region and is commonly called Shaari kabir in the UAE.
This reduced size version of the coin was issued in 1996 only.
