Slovakia
Czecheslovakia was formed in 1918 with two main groups of people: The Czechs and the Slovaks. In 1992 it peacefully split into two countries: The Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
Slovakia joined the European Union in 2004 and is considered an advanced economy.
With beautiful natural scenery including mountains and caves, and medieval castles and towns, Slovakia is a popular tourist destination.
