Aldabra Giant Tortoise

The Aldabra giant tortoise is one of the largest tortoises in the world, and most of them live on the islands of the Aldabra Atoll in Seychelles. Here, 100,000 of these incredible reptiles have caused a unique eco system -- called "tortoise turf" -- to co-evolve. Tortoise turf features over 20 unique species of grasses and herbs, many with their seeds very close to the ground to avoid the tortoises' munching jaws. 

Although it is hard to verify, these tortoises typically live for close to two centuries, and the oldest on record is said to have lived for 255 years. Slow and steady...
