Seychelles
The Republic of Seychelles (pronounced 'say-SHELL') is made up of about 85 granite and coral islands.
Britain and France fought over the islands from the mid 18th century, and in 1973 Seychelles achieved full independence.
Seychelles is very serious about the preservation of their natural environment, and has built a sustainable tourism industry.
