Back in early July I was contacted by Marcy Gibbel about her kids' column in COINage magazine. We conducted an interview by email, and now here it is: Daniel's Coin Zoo is in the October 2016 issue of COINage magazine! (And, it is the Ronald and Nancy Reagan issue.)

I returned from a vacation/road trip last week, and found a surprise waiting for me: An envelope had arrived from the Netherlands with seven coins inside. But who was it from? I do did not know. (But now I do! Update at end of article.)

Sorry, you will no longer find Mapquest maps at Daniel's Coin Zoo (but you can find them below the fold). During the last two weeks of June (2016), I removed all of the Mapquest maps that used to pop-up from the locator maps and replaced them with live Google Map links.

I was just under one year ago that the Coin Zoo hit the thousand coin mark. In the one year (less a week) since then, the collection has grown by 20%, to 1,200 coins from 166 different countries. Pictured above is the haul that took the collection to the 1,200 mark and beyond.

Back in February, I did an email interview with Jim Williams of the Minneapolis StarTribune. He was writing an article on stamps with birds, and decided to cover bird coins as well and Google led him to me.
