The Upland Goose is also known as the Magellan Goose. Like all geese, they like to graze on grass.
This coin, along with the 1-penny coin, was first issued in 1974 in bronze (KM3). It switched to copper-clad steel in 1998 (KM3a). This version (KM131) features the same reverse design, with an updated portrait of Queen Elizabeth on the obverse.
All coin images in Daniel's Coin Zoo are from my personal collection. I collect, research, and personally photograph every coin displayed on this site. PLEASE do not take my images without permission. If you would like to use any coin image you see, just ask me. Thank you.
