Loggerhead Sea Turtle

The Loggerhead Sea Turtle (aka Caretta caretta) is named for its very large head. Loggerheads live in tropical waters all over the world. They nest every 2-3 years, and unlike other sea turtles who like to do it on the beach, the loggerheads date and mate while riding the ocean currents.

The Loggerhead is one of four sea turtle species (out of seven in total) that are found on the central Caribbean coast of Colombia.
