Malaita Eagle Spirit
The Central Bank of Solomon Islands tells us this is the Malaita Eagle Spirit, but beyond that I can find little information. I believe the Eagle Spirit is part of the folklore of the Fataleka people.
The circulating version of this coin was minted in 1977. From 1978 to 1983 special collector editions were minted. The same Eagle Spirit design appeared from 1987 to 2005 with an updated obverse portrait (KM27).
