The Kingdom of Tonga is a 176 island archipelago -- 52 of them inhabited -- stretching about 800 km in a north-south direction.
Tonga is a constitutional monarchy, and the only nation in the region that miraculously avoided being taken over by Europeans (aka "colonisation").
