Canada 25-CENTS (KM530)

This special quarter was issued to celebrate Alberta's 100th anniversary of joining Canadian confederation. Beneath the oil well is a small herd of cows, almost certainly beef cattle. Alberta has more beef cattle than any other Canadian province (over 40% of the country's total).

This coin passed through my hands many times over the years, but it never made it into the Coin Zoo until 2022 because all I noticed was that big oil well. Many thanks to Maria for pointing it out to me and sending me the coin!
