The first coin issued in the newly established Kingdom of Cambodia featured the image of a Kong, a mythological bird associated with royalty in Thailand. Thai influence is strong in Cambodia, with close ties to Hindu and Buddhist culture.

This coin is pre-Khmer, and was issued one-year only.
