Tuvalu 50-CENTS (KM6)

Octopus

There are something like 300 recognized species of octopus, which represents approximately one out three known species of the class Cephalopoda (in the order Mollusca). While all species of octopus are venomous, only the small Blue-ringed octopus is deadly to humans. The beastie on this coin could very well be the Blue-ringed variety, since they live in that part of the world, and they look like this guy.
