Morocco 5-SANTIMAT (Y59)

Fish

The Atlantic coast of Morocco is nearly 3,000 km long, yet fishing is a relatively new activity, with the development of a small-scale fishery starting in 1930. Larger industrial fleets started in 1972 and grew rapidly until the end of the 20th century.

This FAO coin was minted one year only in 1974, which is also 1394 on the Islamic calendar.
