Ireland 10-PENCE (KM29)

Salmon

The salmon from the florin coin in the 'Barnyard Series' carried over to the 10-pence coin when Ireland went to decimal coinage. The original 10d coin was issued from 1969 to 1986 (KM23) and was then reduced in size for this issue in 1993. The salmon was also flipped to face left.

After 2000, all of Ireland's animal coins became history when the Euro was adopted.
