Croatia 2-KUNE (KM21)

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna

The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna is a large fish weighing up to 500 kg. Croatian fishermen have been commercially catching them for around 1,000 years.

This version of the 'Tuna 2-kune' coin replaces the Croation 'Tunj' with the Latin Thunnus thynnus.

The obverse features the marten, whose skin was used in currency in ancient Croatia and whose name in Croatian -- Kuna -- is still used in currency.
