In 2016 the Royal Mint issued a series of five circulating commemorative coins to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter, the author and illustrator of the Peter Rabbit series of children's books.
This one celebrates Potter, and features a small image of the main character, Peter Rabbit. There were 6.9 million of these coins minted.
