Portugal 25-ESCUDOS (KM619)

Cod

Portugal has been fishing and trading cod since the fifteenth century, and their cod trade reached huge proportions. It is claimed that there are more than 365 ways to prepare cod, enough for a different recipe each day of the year. (Unless you eat it for both lunch and dinner, which yours truly did while visiting Newfoundland in 2007.)

This is an FAO coin, issued in 1983 only.
