Norway 5-KRONER (KM461)

Horse

This Norway 1 Krone coin was issued in 1997 to commemorate 350 years of the Norwegian Postal Service.

The mailman is blowing an old postal horn, which presumably let the people know he had arrived in town.

A postal horse named Julie actually pulled a mail wagon in Lillehammer until 1959, when she was replaced by an automobile.
