Latvia 2-EURO (KM171)

Black Stork

Latvia replaced the Lats with the Euro on January 1, 2014. In 2015, they issued three different 2-euro coins, including this beauty with a Black stork on the obverse.

While the birds' range is widespread, they are considered uncommon. In Latvia, they are in trouble, with researchers pinning the blame on DDT.
