Bahamas 1-CENT (KM2)

Starfish

The Starfish has appeared on the Bahamian 1-cent coin from the beginning of the Bahama's own coinage in 1966. (Before then, Bahamians used the coins of Great Britain.) This is an example of the first type issued from 1966 to 1969.

Starfish are members of the Phylum Echinodermata, which makes them quite distinct from other animal types in the Coin Zoo.
