The adult Fork-tailed flycatcher is typically 38 cm long, and over half of that is tail. The long tail opens and closes in flight like a pair of scissors.
This coin was minted in 1975 and 1976 in Proof (this coin), Matte, and special uncirculated versions. None of them ever circulated, but it was already in the Coin Zoo collection before I realized that, so it gets to stay. Besides, it is beautiful.
All coin images in Daniel's Coin Zoo are from my personal collection. I collect, research, and personally photograph every coin displayed on this site. PLEASE do not take my images without permission. If you would like to use any coin image you see, just ask me. Thank you.
