Australia 50-CENTS (KM67)

Emu, Kangaroo

This silver coin is the only one with an Emu, as far as I know. It was issued one year only in 1966, before switching to a 12-sided copper-nickel version.

The emu is the largest bird native to Australia, and is the second tallest bird in the world, after the ostrich. Emus are known to go up to other animals and poke them with their beak, then run away.
