Mozambique 100-METICAIS (KM120)

Kuruna Prawn

The Kuruna Prawn, aka Kuruna Shrimp, aka Japanese Tiger Shrimp, aka Mozambique Prawn... whatever name you call it, the prawns off the coast of Mozambique are well known for their large size and delicious flavour. If you want to cook some up yourself, here's a recipe courtesy of congocookbook.com.

Mozambique's currency was changed from Escudos (as a Portuguese colony) to the Metica in 1975 when the republic was formed. The first monetary reform came in 1980, and the unit of currency was changed to the "Metical" (plural Meticais).
