Kafue Lechwe
The Kafue Lechwe is a unique semi-aquatic antelope that lives exclusively in the vast 6,500 square kilometer Kafue Flats of Zambia. This important area was severely upset by several large hydro electric dams built on the Kafue River in the 1970s. The WWF helped spearhead a program to return the huge wetland to its natural state.
