Horses + Eagle

Nigeria adopted the 'naira' as their new currency in 1973, with 100 kobo to the naira. This 10 kobo coin was minted from 1973 to 1990.

The obverse of all of Nigeria's modern coins (1973-date) feature the coat of arms. The two horses represent dignity and the eagle represents strength.
