Forest Elephant

The Forest Elephant, once thought to be a sub-species of the African Elephant, is now believed to be a unique species of elephant, making the total number of species three (the other is the Asian Elephant). Forest Elephants are an endangered species, but Liberia has made steps to protect their natural heritage, despite the country's ongoing political difficulties.
