This is one of those coins you have to hold in your hand to really appreciate! On the obverse we have the wonderfully ferocious Ethiopian lion, and on the reverse is a grazing Mountain Nyala. Perhaps this is the lion's dinner, but not in the Coin Zoo. (This is a family show, after all.) The Mountain Nyala is an endangered antelope species. It is found only in a very small area in the middle of Ethiopia.
All coin images in Daniel's Coin Zoo are from my personal collection. I collect, research, and personally photograph every coin displayed on this site. PLEASE do not take my images without permission. If you would like to use any coin image you see, just ask me. Thank you.
