Cook Islands 50-CENTS (KM41)

Hawksbill Sea Turtle

The Hawksbill sea turtles are found mostly in tropical coral reefs around the entire globe. They grow up to 1 m in length and can weigh up to 80 kg. Between being eaten by humans, being harvested for their shells, and having their habitats destroyed, the Hawksbill is critically endangered.

This large 50 cent (tene) coin was minted in 1988, 1992, and 1994.
