Australia 20-CENTS (KM558) Brolga Cranes
In 2001, Australia released a series of circulating commemorative 20 cent coins celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Federation of Australia. There were nine different coins, one for each of the six states and three territories of the country. The reverses were designed by students in a nation-wide competition.
A pair of Brolga cranes (aka Australian crane) doing a mating dance are featured on the Northern Territories coin.
The winning design for this coin is by Lisa Brett from Leanyer Primary School.
