Canada 5-CENTS (KM205) Beaver

The Beaver is a large semi-aquatic rodent that can weigh over 25 kg. It is Canada's national animal. Its main claim to fame is that it thinks to slap its tail on the water to warn its buddies before it flees from danger.

The beaver design first appeared on Canada's 5-cent coin in 1937 and remains to this day. This version celebrates 125 years of Canadian confederation.
