Argentina ½-CENTAVO (KM95)

Rufous hornero

The Rufous hornero (Furnarius rufus) is the national bird of Argentina. It is a member of the Furnariidae family, aka the "ovenbird" family. Its clay oven-like nest is depicted on the coin. (The ovenbird is a different bird who is not a member of the ovenbird family. I know... confusing.)

Thanks to Andrés from Argentina who sent me this coin and completed the Argentina section of the Coin Zoo!
