India 2-ANNAS (KM4.1) Zebu Bull
Zebus (Bos taurus indicus) are a humped cattle (aka cow) of which there are about 75 known breeds. In India, known breeds make up less than 20% of the cattle population. The rest are cross-bred due to their sacred nature (they get free rein in many areas, and they don't get eaten).
Although the animal on this coin is sometimes identified as a Brahman Bull, that is not possible, since the Brahman breed was developed in the United States from cattle imported from India. The Zebu appears on all three anna coins from the pre-decimal period of India coins.
There are 4 pice to 1 anna, and 16 annas in a rupee.
