Zambia 10-NGWEE (KM206)

Common Eland

That's a Common eland (aka Southern eland aka Eland antelope aka Taurotragus oryx), which is a savannah and plains antelope of East and Southern Africa. Both the males and females have spiral horns.

On January 1, 2013, Zambia introduced a new series of coins consisting of 5, 10, and 50 ngwee pieces, plus a one kwacha coin. The older coins are still legal tender, but because their metal value is higher than their face value they have all but disappeared from circulation.
