Giant Eland

A male Giant Eland can weigh up to 1,000 kg and their huge spiral horns can extend beyond 120 cm. They hang out in sparse forest during the heat of the day, and feed on the savannah during the morning and evening hours.

The Central Bank of the Gabonese Republic issued their first 100 franc coin in 1971-1972 (KM12). This version with a modified reverse was issued between 1975 and 1985.
