Zambia
Zambia is a land-locked country that produces more copper than all but two other countries on earth.
Zambia used to be Northern Rhodesia, named for Cecil Rhodes of the British South Africa Company who developed and controlled the area from the late nineteenth century until 1924 when it became a British protectorate.
In 1964 the former Northern Rhodesia became the present independent Republic of Zambia.
